En résumé

Géologue au sein d’AREVA MINES (filiale du groupe AREVA) depuis 2006, j’ai participé depuis lors aux activités d’exploration et de développement de gisements d’uranium du groupe AREVA dans le nord du Niger, puis dans le Gobi oriental en Mongolie.

Au sein d’AREVA NC NIGER, la structure géosciences possède un vaste panel de compétences dans les domaines géoscientifiques : exploration minière, développement minier, support technique aux sociétés d’exploitation minière, modélisation, hydrogéologie, SIG, data management, etc.

En 2006 et 2007, j’ai pris part aux travaux de développement et d’estimation du gisement d’Imouraren, gisement d’uranium tectono-sédimentaire de classe mondiale situé à 150 km au nord d’Agadez, Niger. Fin 2007, je dirigeais l’équipe en charge de l’exploration sur les permis de recherche situés autour du gisement d’Imouraren.

De 2008 à 2010, adjoint au Chef Géologue d’AREVA NC NIGER, j’ai supervisé les projets d’exploration (allant du greenfield aux extensions des mines existantes) pour la recherche et le développement de gisements d’uranium en contexte tectono-sédimentaire dans le bassin de Tim Mersoï, province uranifère majeure située au nord du Niger.

    2013 - maintenant Mission: elaboration, follow-up and management of the exploration campaigns for the research of uranium deposits, and the estimation of the known mineralizations, on the licences of COGEGOBI LLC, wholly owned subsidiary of AREVA MINES in Mongolia. Operational management of the geosciences teams for the Sainshand Project (eastern Gobi).

    Achievements: large scale drilling campaigns for the estimation and classification of the roll-front type uranium mineralizations in the sedimentary basins of Unegt and Zuunbayan. Management of the greenfield and brownfield exploration campaigns for the Sainshand Project (Dornogobi province - eastern Gobi).
  • COGEGOBI LLC (AREVA MINES subsidiary) - Deputy chief geologist

    2011 - 2013 Mission: elaboration, follow-up and management of the exploration campaigns for the research of uranium deposits, and the estimation of the known mineralizations, on the licences of COGEGOBI LLC, wholly owned subsidiary of AREVA MINES in Mongolia. Operational management of the geosciences teams for the Sainshand Project (eastern Gobi).

    Achievements: large scale drilling campaigns for the estimation and classification of the roll-front type uranium mineralizations in the sedimentary basins of Unegt and Zuunbayan. Management of the greenfield and brownfield exploration campaigns for the Sainshand Project (Dornogobi province - eastern Gobi). Management of the geosciences teams growth (approximately 30 geologists and 10 logging technicians now), associated with the development of the company.
  • AREVA NC NIGER - Exploration projects manager

    Paris La Defense 2008 - 2011 Mission: elaboration, follow-up and management of the exploration campaigns for the research of uranium deposits on the AREVA exploration and mining licenses in Niger. The Chief Geologist being absent, operational management of the geosciences projects and teams.

    Achievements: large scale drilling campaigns (on green field licenses), drilling campaigns around the historical orebodies for the renewal of the resources of the operating mining companies (on brown field licenses), exploration projects and targets generation, short, medium and long term scheduling, technical support to the mining companies of the group. Geosciences teams coordination, management of the geosciences structure on a back-to-back basis with the Chief Geologist. Participation to the exploration budget drawing up and follow-up.
  • AREVA NC NIGER - Geologist, exploration project leader

    Paris La Defense 2007 - 2008 Mission: organization, planning and management of the exploration works led on the exploration licenses situated in the area of the Imouraren deposit, camp manager.

    Achievements: large scale drilling campaigns, investigation of the uraniferous indices, radiometric mapping, interpretation of the geophysical data, management of the Tim Mersoï central area exploration camp.

  • AREVA NC NIGER - Geologist, mining development

    Paris La Defense 2006 - 2007 Mission: organization and follow-up of the development works, and contribution to the estimation of the resources and reserves of the Imouraren uranium deposit. Assistant to the manager of the Imouraren deposit development works.

    Achievements: intensive development rotary drilling campaign, diamond drillings for radiometry/grade correlation, diamond drillings for ore processing tests, quality assurance and quality control of the logging data, building-up of the geological model, and modelling of the uraniferous mineralization.
  • Marathon Resources Ltd - Trainee exploration geologist

    2005 - 2005 In 2005, working for the company Marathon Resources Ltd, an exploration junior company based in Adelaide, South Australia, I took part in the grass roots exploration works led on the licenses owned by the company in South Australia and Victoria.

    Achievements: gathering of samples for large scale ground geochemical surveys (calcrete and MMI geochemical assays), analysis and interpretation of the results for drilling targets generation, ground geophysics (EM) for massive sulfides research, aircore drillings, study of cores from an uraniferous breccia complex (Paralana Ore System, Flinders Ranges).
