Vincent Bechtel is leading the Pharmaceutical Technology Transfer and Innovative Technology Introduction Department at Capsugel DFS, France. Vincent brings more than 15 years of experience in both chemical and pharmaceutical industry with various positions such as Project Engineer, Project Manager and Technical Services Manager.
Promoter of the QbD approach as an efficient way to lead complex projects with reducing risks, he is managing the process set-up and transfer of multiple dosage forms from clinical until commercial, as well as engineering innovative technologies to expand Dosage Forms portfolio.
Vincent holds a General Engineering degree from CESI in Paris, completed by a Master degree in Project Management from the University of Mulhouse and a Master degree in Governance from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris.

    Colmar 2015 - maintenant Leading a Team of 15 engineers and scientists as solution providers, to bring to the market NCE from clinical or transfer existing molecules on a fast track. Oral dosage forms including high potent drugs, micro-dosed APIs, hormones, antibiotics and sterile ophthalmic ointments.
    To support formulation challenges or customers’ needs, the Team also designs and implements innovative technologies into the GMP manufacturing area, such as Xcelodose® µ-dosing platform, Lipid Multiparticulates, Press-fit®, enTRinsic™ drug delivery technology or Spray Dry Dispersion.
    The Team is conducted by the QbD approach for the entire project lifecycle.
  • Capsugel - Technical Services Manager

    Colmar 2010 - 2015 Management of the site Maintenance (process and process equipment, building, utilities), Automation, Industrial IT and Calibration.
    Team management (15 colleagues), budgets and investments 3Mio€+.
    Implementation of a CMMS for efficiency follow-up, improvement of line reliability with lowering by 50% the technical-related stoppages, energy consumption reduction by 15%, integration of new equipment (PW station, mixers, isolator, printing, encapsulation…), preventive maintenance optimization by condition-based maintenance deployment and risk analysis
  • Capsugel - Pfizer - Calibration & Automation Head

    2009 - 2010 Team management: automation, industrial IT and calibration.
    FDA inspection preparation and successfully achieved with complete new design of the documentation and procedures architecture.
    Implementation of production supervision SCADAs, networking all PLCs with web-based supervision for real-time production management and OEE overview.
  • LATTS - Research Assistant

    2007 - 2007 Research lab from the CNRS – National Center for Scientific Research (public organization under responsibility of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research). Research report on European gas and electricity market’s opening for competition. Mechanisms, opportunities, strategies.
    The lab is located and under functional responsibility of the ENPC engineering school.
  • Capsugel - Pfizer - Project Engineer

    2007 - 2009 In the Project Engineering Team, design and implementation of all utilities (10+ different energies), HVACs (35+ HVACs) and a fully validated GMP Environmental Monitoring System in two new pharmaceutical areas (4,500 m²).
    Project and timelines management, contractor coordination, investment budgets management, GMP documentation creation until Qualification and system release for production.
  • SOPREMA USA - Process engineer

    2003 - 2003 Mission abroad during general engineering studies. Member of the engineering Department, design and implementation of pollution reduction system, optimization of energy loops.
  • ATIEP - Project Manager

    1999 - 2006 SME specialized in engineering services for the industries: thermal equipment and clean room. Engineering of technical installation for pharmaceuticals, fine chemistry, mechanics, plastics…: defining the customer’s needs, details engineering, negotiations, sourcing, follow-up, commissioning.
    Examples: HVACs, purified water loops, purified steam boilers and networks, reactors, open cooling towers, various utilities, clean room, energy recovery systems…
